Gay Rules! Gay Zoos!

Saw this on Yahoo! News just now.

California's first gay marriage, on June 17
SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - - California will hold its first gay marriages starting on June 17, state authorities told its public officials Wednesday, two weeks after the state Supreme Court quashed a ban on gay marriage in a historic ruling.
In the ceremony, the authorities said in a statement, the terms husband and wife will be replaced by "party A" and "party B." The union, in all its effects, will in no other way differ from a normal civilian marriage officiated by state authorities.
In an opinion that could have nationwide implications, the California Supreme Court on May 15 voted 4-3 in favor of plaintiffs who argued that restricting marriage to men and women was discriminatory.
The ruling added that all California couples had a "basic civil right" to marry "without regard to their sexual orientation."
California is now only the second US state after Massachusetts to legalize unions between homosexuals.
Supreme Court rulings go into effect 30 days after publication, but state authorities set June 17 as the date for the first marriages to be officiated, since the ruling can be appealed up to June 16.
The ruling on gay marriage followed a long-running legal battle that erupted in 2000 when California voters approved a law declaring that only marriages between men and women could be legally recognized.
In February 2004, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom defied state law by issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, arguing that existing laws were illegal because they violated equal rights legislation.
A court later halted the issuance of licenses and declared that same-sex marriages that took place during this period were void, but civil rights activists argued that limiting marriage to opposite-sex couples was unconstitutional.
In 2005 the San Francisco Superior Court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, finding that there was no justification for refusing to allow marriages.
But the decision was overturned in 2006 by the California Court of Appeal, which ruled in a 2-1 decision that the state's desire to "carry out the expressed wishes of a majority" was sufficient to preserve the existing law.
California lawmakers have also voted in favor of gay marriage but the bill was vetoed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who said, however, he would respect the Supreme Court's decision.
A coalition of religious and social conservative groups have vowed to add a vote calling for a ban on same-sex marriage when California goes to the polls in November's election.
State election officials will rule next month on whether sponsors of the vote have gathered enough signatures to force the issue onto the ballot. Schwarzenegger has said he would not support the measure.
Wednesday's ruling coincided with a Field opinion survey that found Californians in favor of gay marriage outnumbering those against by a 52-41 percent margin, in stark contrast with the 59-28 percent advantage gay marriage opposers had in the first survey the group took on the issue in 1977.

My view? Yeah Gay!

Random Thoughts

Hmmm....I wonder if the economy is really turning so bad nowadays that even stars starts to appear in public spaces?
Yesterday I saw JJ Lim with a grp of his friends at Suki Sushi (I'm positive its him. Unless another person went for plastic surgery to be like him...Nah, impossible. Who will be that stupid?) and today I step into a lift and saw Jack Neo joining me at the 8th storey talkin abt wat 2 eat 4 lunch (beef noodles or kfc are his only 2 choices. Poor thing. Is he banned from the rest of the eateries and restaurants?). What the heck? But I have to say that girl beside him is really god-damn chio~

<> Movie Night

Watched MADE IN HONOR with vanessa yesterday night after work. Was damn tired but I thought I deserve some fun so I went.
It was a movie with a lot of funny stuff that wasn' too old or copied from a previous movie and although there's one scene that kept spinning and makes me kinda dizzy I had throughly enjoyed the movie.
At least I would had if not for a certain somebody (female but can't tell how old she is because it's too dark in the cinema) who kept on luffing at anything the male lead says.

Male lead: I...I..
Certain somebody: hahahahah...(shaking back and forth)
Male lead falls walk on the street.
Certain somebody: hahahahah...(shaking back and forth)

and it goes on and on and on...

Seriously I missed a big part of the movie silently wishing the certain somebody will "hahaha..." and collaspe. Must have been not concentrating hard enough as the certain somebody is still alive and "haha-ing" at the end of the movie. Damn.

After the movie we kinda debate for a while deciding between to have either hotdog buns or sushi for supper. Sushi won and I have to say excellent choice. We went to Suki Sushi beside the theatre and it taste so much better than Sakae. We can tell the rich is sushi rice and not ordinary rice like those at Sakae. And it's so much cheaper too - by 0.19 cents per plate. I suspect the drinks are cheaper as well but I kinda forgot the price of the drinks at Sakae.

Definately going back next time I had a sushi craving. Hmmm...I wonder if there's a better sushi restaurant out there in Singapore which I hadn't been to?

Damn!
This is going to my bay-bey~

Firstly...Specs Specs!

Looking at some of the first-look reviews on the internet (first look as in the product has not yet been released but somehow they got their hands on a prototype of something), I discovered quite a few things:

It is positioned as a "high-end" product so it's bound to clean out my pockets dry.

This beauty does not have any WLAN function. Well, I dun need it anyway. I have my dear dear labby and psp. Websites look much nicer on them den on mobile phones anyway.

The flash, or rather lack of. I always like the way you can use your flash as torch light in Sony Ericsson phones and now they are taking it away? Waddayameanbythat?

They say picture quality by the camera sucks big time(look at sample pic below). I can see what they mean but hey! it's good enough for me!

I know I know. You be going like "What! It seems like you just change a new phone yesterday!" in your head. Erm...not exactly. The last time I change to my current N82 is ....definately less then half a year ago. What can I say? I am a gadget manic. So you know what to give me for my birthday right?

Back to the phone....Despite all the weak pts that this baby have, I still going for it. Well...nothing is perfect. Even phones.

P.S If you can't see the pictures at any point in time, click on it.
Final Fantasy Character Test

Hmm...counting down to end of work sounds like a bit too far off.
Let me do it another way.
Since Monday is a public holiday, let me count down to a long weekend instead! (At least one day less of hell for me!)

Now is 5:32PM, 28 mins to the end of work and starting of heavenly nice long weekend! Whoopee! Now that sounds so much shorter and faster in comparison!

Counting down

Counting down to my last day of work:

15 more days

I feel that there must be some kind of relation.

I felt relatively dizzy on Monday, first wave of dizziness came when I was on board the train at about 8am. No idea why but I felt nauseous then.
Then throughout the time when I was working I keep feeling nauseous and dizzy. I thought of something and searched the net for quake reports as the last time I was feeling this way was when the Indonesian quake struck either late last year or early this year. The same groggy, cannot concentrate, wanting to puke feeling. Found nothing mentioned about a quake or quake tremors felt in Singapore then so I dismissed it as the weather being too heaty.

So you can imagine the shock when I see this.

What the... How is that possible. The quake is so damn far away and there isn't any reports of tremors felt in Singapore.

No wonder I keep having the feeling something bad is going to happen. I even cross the road extra carefully just in case I accidentally overlook one car and kena run over by it. And I avoid as much roads as possible.

When has I become a quake detector?
Currently I am adopting a new philosophy.

If I work too hard the previous day, I make sure I slack harder the next. This is to prevent me from doing too much work for the teeny weeny pay that I am receiving. In fact this is exactly what I am doing right now. Blogging instead of doing the work which I am supposed to do...

Spoke to a Japanese colleague over the phone just now. Kind of get carried away and started to show off my limited dictionary of lousy Japanese. Luckily she didn't get angry. She just laughed then I got encouraged and speak more lousy Japanese and she laughed again and this goes on and on and on and on.......

Hmmm~ Thinking back upon it, that's sounds like fun! Never-ending lousy Japanese (only on my side) conversation. Maybe I will pester her again 2m...

PSP Game Review - FF VII Crisis Core

I am so darn addicted to this game on my psp!
It's called Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core. One of the reason is due to the male characters in the game. Damn they are so~darn handsome. My personal favourite is Genesis. He just have the "X-factor" and I love it when he appears in that blood red outfit of his! Hmm...yummy! And I cried when he jumped over the railing in the factory (or whatever u called that place), I will missed drooling over his face! It turns out it's a waste of my tears as he appears shortly after quoting something out of his favourite play "Loveless" (seems like a favourite passtime of his. Turns to be quite annoying after a while. Loveless also remains me of another BL anime with the same name. Wonder if there's any relation between the 2..).
Another of my favourite will be Zack. Coincidentally it's the same name as one of my favourite twin stars in starring in my all time favourite sitcom "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody", although i like Cody more in the sitcom. Back to Zack (the character in the game not sitcom), he just grew more and more manly towards the end of the game. At certain scenes I feel he looks a lot like 贺军翔. 贺军翔 is one of the least number of males in the world who I think is close to perfect in terms of appearance.
The female leads are cute as well but they seems too good to be too. I don't know....they are like....dolls. Like not real at all. It will be damn scary if someone really looks like the female characters in Crisis Core! But they got pretty cute voice, those sweet voice gives a image of a kind and gentle girl with apple shaped face and petite mouth. Totally fits image of how the female characters are supposed to be.
Another reason why it's now my current favourite game is because of the interesting storyline. Unlike the title of the game, it's not entirely a "fantasy' and situations like your childhood friend changing into someone you don't know is pretty common in everyday life. I first grumbled a little when I saw the huge file size of the game (had to maximise every bit of my 4GB memory as much as possible), but it turns out to be pretty worth it. Excellent graphics, interesting storyline, to be drooled over characters. I will give it a rating of 10/10.
I had not exactly finished the game (even though I thought I had finished the game when Andreal died. I thought he is supposed to be the main supporting role in the game and the game can't go on w/o him. How can I be more wrong?) but I already got to level 30 in terms of fighting skills. I wonder what is the highest level I can get? Don't tell me the sky is the limit?

Here's some of the pictures I took of the net. I dun know if it's possible to get screenshots off the PSP. Ermm...anyone?

Box art of FFVII Crisis Core. Most of the main characters are there. But they left out my Genesis! Boo hoo~

Zoom in shot of Genesis. Hold on while I scream and drool a little. Ahh~~~~~Splash! (sound of my drool hitting the ground)

They really have Genesis's costume in real life! Too bad I can't rush over to Japan right now..

Zack in the latter part of the game. That's when I feel he starts to look suspiciously like Mr He. Waddayathink?

Zack and Cissnei (I forgot her name. Have 2 search a while @ the net 4 it).

Cissnei again. Personally I prefer Aerith to her. She is coming on a bit too strong for my liking.

I am surprised when I saw cloud made an guest appearance as one of the solder members. Missed him so much!
